dream boats 1800

Hey everyone, sorry I haven’t blogged in a while things have been quite rough these past couple of days. I have also found myself being quite hard on myself and looking back on my previous posts and photos I hate how they come across and how they’ve been put together. I am such a perfectionist I hate to see things I’m doing wrong and normally I will punish myself and be quite low for a few days. I’ve realised I’m not the typical high street blogger and I dont have perfect manicured nails and sultry hair. I just love to create stories and sometimes art with my fashion and style. I have put so much effort into trying to bring to life these worlds inside my imagination and its been hard work. Sometimes I feel is it really worth it?  ok rant over.

I went to visit my University City where I will be living in september, its quite a flat area but you have to climb up this huge hill to get to my accommodation but there is a lovely sea view. I am so terrified of making new friends I am so socially awkward and I dont get along with girls so well. I find them hard to trust and I’m going to be staying with five of them. I just hope to god they like me and not think I’m some freak. My Dad and I visited the area to get our bearings of where things were, we drove alone the sea front it was quite rainy but I love how misty it made everything, it was so magical I really think it will be such an inspiring place to live.

I bought a few things that day some Vintage Pink Cotton Gloves that I would love to wear with a Pink Quilted Jacket like Lady Penelope. I bought a Shabby Chic Dolly Mug and a Birthday Card yes I know it isn’t anyones birthday but I wanted a print of the design without buying a poster that was £10. I used it for my giveaway image HERE. Its so cute don’t you think? You can find more pieces with the same design HERE. Other things I bought were, 50 Shades Of Grey, yeah I still haven’t read all of it, A Vintage Teacup and Saucer and I got the Large Tissue Paper Flower for free, I really wanted to learn how to make them after seeing them being used in Ingela’s Photography. Whilst writing this post I’ve been listening to Erin’s 50s inspired mix on 8tracks HEREAlso I wanted to know would you prefer my photos without the vintage edit or not? In the outfit photos below I’ve not edited them.

Your photos look stunning with and without the effects – perhaps just use them when they suit the feel of the shoot?I'm so excited for you about your move to uni! I didn't click with the girls I was living with last year, but I was soon adopted by another flat who I ended up pretty much living with 🙂 I'm sure you're going to have an amazing time either way!Don't be too harsh on yourself about your outfits. Every outfit you post is so beautifully thought out and you can see the care and love you put into your art – you're still the most inspiring outfit blogger I know! That last photo with the swan boats is lovely – looks like it could be a great photo location! xx

I agree with Megan about the effects on your pictures, just use them when they fit with the story!I also think you're doing it quite well; of course maybe you should improve in some things (everyone should do it, nobody's perfect) but don't be so hard with you for that! Remember; fashion is a way to express ourselves and have fun… so enjoy it!I can't recognize the location of your uni, but looks so wonderful. in fact I really love your country, I'm a big Oxford's fan and cannot wait to come back there!Btw, that Topshop sailor blouse is adorable; I'm always in love with sailor stuff and this piece is simply perfect <3

I adore how your outfits tell a story and how magical they feel! Also, those last few landscape shots look like they came from Moonrise Kingdom (I don't know if you've seen it, but it is an amazingly gorgeous movie).

Oh honey, don't be harsh on yourself! You're one of my fave bloggers and thats down to how perfectly you execute each and every outfit post. I wish I was as talented as you 🙂 I'm off to university in September too but I'm more worried about whether I'll get the results I need rather than making friends. What you have to remember is that everyone is in the same boat and that you're so lovely you'll make friends really easily 🙂

Are you kidding? Your photos are so much more interesting than just a usual outfit shot, its obvious how much thought you put into the whole thing-if it was a magazine, think how many people's jobs you'd be doing-photographer, model, editor, props, as well as the person who came up with the concept!P.S. your hair is definitely sultry anyway haha.

I think the pictures look beautiful even without the vintage effect, maybe you can try leave them as they are once in a while. ;3Even though I don't like sailor style at all, I love how you put together this outfit, the rolled-up trousers, the blazer, the socks and shoes, it's amazing! And good luck with your uni socialising, I have anxiety attacks about that too. 😀 :/

Aaah, don't be so harsh on yourself lady. I looove your style and I think all your photos are stunning! You always look so put together and feminine and just.. excellent. I like the editing style of the images, but if you see my blog… that's the obvious option I would choose haha. The photos look good without the alterations too 🙂 Oh and I feel your pain, I'm socially awkward as hell. It sucks. Meeting new people mentally drains me.
