On the 11th of October we headed up to London to see Aurora live in the 02 Forum. We caught a Mega bus at 5am in the morning and got in to London for 10am. The traffic going into London early in the morning was awful and trying to sleep on the bus was also awful, however still worth the cheap costs. The train was almost over £100 now for two people to travel to London, its ridiculous. Anyways, when we got to London I was so eager to go and visit the new Vegan Cafe just opened in Shoreditch called GENESIS. When I saw photos of the place on Instagram, it was like a dream come true. Everything I aesthetically love, pink hues, marble tiles, plants and cosmic vibes.
When we got off the tube we headed straight there, to begin with we couldn’t get a decent seat because it was so busy. We waited a while to get a seat right next to the window for the best natural lighting for food photos. The menu was phenomenal, now I am very critical when it comes to New Vegan food as I have tried lots of Vegan places to eat in the short space of being plant based for almost two years now. I trekked around London last year and tried loads of Vegan Food, so I can really recommend the best places to eat. When we ordered the food at GENESIS, we went a bit over board and spent about £40 this included.
– FRIED AVOCADO TACO ( GF ) £4.00
– FRENCH FRIES IN AVOCADAO OIL ( GF ) £4.00
-KARMA COLA £3.00
– CHOCOLATE MILKSHAKE £5.95
-GENESIS BURGER WITH ADDED COCONUT CHEESE £10.00
-SAUERKRAUT HOTDOG £9.00
– KAMUT MAC AND CHEESE £5.50
It was all so delicious and very messy at the same time. Dan loved the Mac and Cheese, he’s only bee Vegan for 4 months now and just loves Vegan Cheese and the junk food. I loved the Hot Dog with the Sauerkraut and Mustard it was a good combination. We also trie the Fried Avocado which was incredible, I have never tasted anything like that before. It was crispy but at the same time creamy! The French Fries were also very delicious too and weren’t very oily. I’ve discovered that my Vegan body does not go too well with excessive oils and fats however it can deal with Avocado healthy fats and healthy fats in general so thats a bonus! I also like the fact that majority of the Menu is Gluten Free, Organic and GMO Free. This is something I got into a conversation with, with one of the Founders of GENESIS. Even though people think Vegan Food is healthy the majority of the time it isn’t, it can still be full of chemicals and nasties. This is another reason why I admire this place so much, it really stands by what I believe in as a person, to try and stick to the healthiest options as possible. I hope you like the photos, we spent ages taking lots! Standing on tables to get that perfect flat laid Insta shot.
If you get to go and try out the food at this place let me know your thoughts!
