Once Upon A Time In Sicily

Hello everyone, this post is a bit different to my usual. I have been on the hunt for similar clothes to the recent Dolce & Gabbana Winter 2015 collection. To my surprise I have found beautiful replicas on online stores such as Chicnova, She Inside and OASAP. Obviously they are sold at very cheap prices and don't have the amount of detail and precision gone into making the garment. But nevertheless if I were to see someone pull of this cheap version I would be fooled into thinking it was real D&G from afar. A girl can dream that one day she might be able to afford the real version, but for now I'm going to indulge you into finding the more affordable versions. I have always been a fan of Dolce & Gabbana and this season its about easing in from the beautiful Almond Blossom prints of Spring/Summer into the Autumn Floral Prints and then onto the magical woodland designs, how exciting right?  I have seen a couple of dresses that I think are very similar to that of D&G and I will share with you my very hidden treasures. If you want to ask any questions or are worried about ordering/ or shipment from foreign online companies feel free to leave a comment.

Lots of love,

LUSH Cardiff Blogger Event

Hey guys, yesterday I attended my first LUSH Cardiff Blogger Event, now I know I'm not a beauty blogger but to meet up with other fellow welsh bloggers was the main reason for going. I sat in Starbucks for a good three hours as I was fashionably early. Then other bloggers met there at about 6.20pm, the lovely Jo (Ojo's World), then followed was Alice (Aliceinalooking glass), Briley (Briley Powell ), Hannah( The Make up junkies diary) and Claire ( Evans-Crittens). We had a good laugh and a quick chat about our blogs, its lovely to share an interest with ladies from all sorts of backgrounds and ages and yet we could still talk for hours about our little blogs.

The evening started off with an introduction by the LUSH Cardiff team and then we went around in groups watching demo's of new products being introduced to the Lush range. Now I'm not one to review beauty products but to be able to test them out with a room full of beauty bloggers, I kind of got an idea what was best/suitable. First reviewed were the Lush Sun Care range we all tested out, British Nanny Facial Moisturiser, Sesame Sun Tan Lotion, Life Saver Sun Screen, Million Dollar Facial Moisturiser, Powered Sunshine Sunscreen and The Sunblock Bar Wash. We all mostly disliked the Seasame Tan lotion as it smelled nutty quite like peanut butter and it was quite strong and off putting. The Powered Sunshine Sunscreen was quite messy if you wanted a quick apply before heading into the sun. Life Saver Sun Screen had a shimmery glow and was nice to apply so was British Nanny, but my favourite was the Sunblock Bar Wash and Million Dollar Facial Moisturiser, both very lightweight and fragrance free and the Bar could be applied in the shower and would provide SPF 30 protection from the sun all day.

After our first experimental demo's we were all smelling beautiful and were offered to taste a new tea by the Waterloo Tea House in Cardiff. I tried the Puerh Ancient Shu Classic that was drank chilled, which is very different for such an avid tea drinker like myself to try out cold tea. However it was rather refreshing and had a unique taste but its good to try new thing out. Then we were offered a lovely piece of chocolate cake which was quite nutty and tasted delicious.

We all headed up stairs for our second demo by this lovely Lush lady, it was about the self preserving facial masks and lotions. If you want to know more about what Lush are putting into their products to get that little bit longer shelf life only using natural ingredients, read the article about it here. We were introduced to Mask of Magnaminty, Ocean Salt, Dream Cream and a New Charity Pot. Of course not all of these are new but they have slightly changed the recipe by including more honey to make it more self preserving. I recently bought Mask of Magnaminty as it has been a favourite since I was young and I've noticed its consistency has changed. It is a real favourite of mine on one of those pamper days you treat yourself too, it has a cooling effect from the mint so it leaves you feeling refreshed and cleansed.

After the second demo we were offered a slice of Lemon and Poppy Seed Sponge along with another taste of a unique tea, this one I couldn't quite remember the name of as the cake tasted so good. But this tea was more my favourite as it was hot and had a slight taste of honey.

The last demo was upstairs and it was about the perfume range. Obviously I tried everything and ended up smelling of so many different aroma's. My favourite smell was Vanilla, it was light, sweet and a perfect feminine smell. There was a fragrance called Lust that was very old fashioned smelling, would suit a rockabilly chick, or an elder female. Smugglers Soul and Dirty were typical lad smells, very strong smelling. Then Karma and Sun were unisex and very fruity and summery.

We then tried a gluten and dairy free piece of orange cake, that was quite different but glad they accommodated for the special dietary requirements of some people. The texture was very gooey but the taste was quite strong as sometimes I've noticed on gluten free products that they can taste quite dry or bland. We tried the Lemon Grass tea which wasn't to my taste at all, it was weird tasting and very hot to drink.

After a lovely evening I got some freebies to take home and walked the train back with Alice and Leanne (A slice of my life Wales)  its great to have local bloggers to travel with to events in Wales. I love it.

Lots of love,

Charlotte

Away with the fairies

Dress*- OASAP / Shoes- New Look / Necklace- River Island / Headband- DIY

Hey guys recently I have been so busy with planning some trips up to London that I haven't managed to blog as much. I am in this awkward transitional phase from airy fairy summer dresses to rich burgundy autumn/winter colours. Once I saw this dress on OASAP I just had to get it, mainly because it reminds me of a childhood memory when I visited Blackpool. There was an underground children's club with some sort of luminescent and whimsical stage set with mushrooms and little elves. The best part that it all glowed in the dark so at a young age it looked amazing. This print is so beautiful it looks like it has been drawn on and the silky feel to the material of the dress makes it float around in the wind, giving it that extra magical essence. I wanted to break up the print a bit by adding a pink silk bow belt that I found lying around my room. I also tailored it off with a regal looking necklace from River Island which is my ultimate best summer buy. It gives a plain dress such sparkle and really compliments the circular neckline. Hope you like this outfit and are trying to hold on to the summers magic as much as you can, before school starts again.

Bernadette

Bernadette Dress- Chi Chi Clothing / Headband- Primark

Hello lovelies, here is the beautiful Bernadette dress from Chi Chi Clothing. I am in love with the colour and the pink embroidered bodice laced with pearls. Its a perfect maxi dress for a Wedding. I had to take 5 inches off the bottom because it was so long, I didn't have time to hem it up but I am looking for a place where I can get it done professionally. The headband is from Primark and gives the outfit that regal feel. Hope you are all doing well and I'm looking forward to September, Birthday month and full of amazing events and surprises.

Country Chic

Pink Blazer- River Island Sale / Floral Dress*- OASAP / Earrings- River Island / Pink Heels*- Quiz Clothing

Hey guys, hope your still there, I haven't blogged for two weeks ahh! Mainly because I've been waiting for these beautiful dresses to come from OASAP. Which normally takes up to two- three weeks due them coming from China. I am so glad they've come, this dress is perfect. My waitress job has been going so fantastically that I have had a little spending spree in River Island Sale. I got this beautiful Pink Blazer for only £30, it makes the outfit so beautifully chic! Oh yeah I forgot to say I got my hair done in a 'Balayage' style. However, with my awkwardly thin hair it just doesn't suit me, I was thinking about either getting similar extensions from some where? or to get it back to brown and buying fresh extensions, opinions are needed, my family are hopeless. I honestly feel my age now wearing this outfit and starting to really feel like myself again. I got some amazing Earrings from River Island that channels my inner Princess personality What do you think? Also sorry for the lack of photos I think I might need a new lens, they were too blurry to post but took some close up shots of the outfit instead.

Lots of love,

Charlotte

Darccy London/ Giveaway

Earrings- River Island / Necklace- River Island / Shoes- New Look / Dress*- Darccy London / Headband- Primark

Hey guys, I just couldn't wait to show you this dress from Darccy London, I've blogged about them previously they are my favourite company of all time. Its such a vintage princess shop and one day I must go and visit them on Portobello Road in London. This dress is perfectly fitted to my body shape and my petite height. The pink a line skirt and the lace long sleeved top perfectly matched together with an embroidered style belt. It just portrays elegance and femininity and it would be perfect to wear to a Wedding. In fact the day I took these photo at my local hotel, there was a wedding that day and everyone was asking if I was too early for the wedding. I quickly took photos on the red carpet that was laid out for the Bride and dreamt of their magical day. I took a look inside and it was so old and reminded me of Downton Abbey. It makes me so excited as well that my Dad has finally got engaged to his partner and soon there shall be a wedding and I can't wait, I love all the dreamy soppy romantic stuff. Even though your always seemed as weak or vulnerable being a believer in love and destiny, but the role model Charlotte York from Sex and the City has given me hope to not give up when things get tough and when sometimes they just don't work out between two people and that's ok because the best is yet to come.

p.s (Instagram deleted my account because I posted an 'indecent' photo of my bottom covered in a black body con which was supposedly not ok, I can't get another account and I didn't even have it for a week, but oh well like I said something things just aren't meant to be.)
