Alyssa Nicole

Black Blazer- NEW LOOK/ Bow Blouse- MISS SELFRIDGE/ Black Trousers- MISS SELFRIDGE/ Black Heeled Boots- MISS SELFRIDGE.

Happy New Year everyone! I had a fabulous night hope you guys did too. What a great way to start the year by entering Lookbook's collaborative competition with Fashion Designer 'Alyssa Nicole'. You have to create a tux monochrome inspired outfit and explain the inspiration/reason behind it. You know I love competitions and from such a young age I have been encouraged to part take in them, thanks to my Mum. So I picked out some Miss Selfridge pieces from my wardrobe and put together a look, it's quite androgynous and at the same time sophisticated. I adore blazer's and they ultimately make you feel like a powerful independent women which is one of the resolutions for 2015. Hope you've written yours down, I've a thought about mine and I'd like to get more involved with Fashion Blogging with the community and try to engage everyone. Ultimately writing daily blog posts I feel personally doesn't feed the side of my character that loves to inspire and create. On another note I have a few other resolutions:-

-Walk around more and explore, go on adventures rather than to town and spend money.
-Drink more water & green tea instead of coffee and tea, I really don't want yellow stained teeth.
-Get more creative, DIY pieces, make clothes, a hobby I enjoyed in 2012.
-Read more books, I fear they will become extinct.
-Meet up with lots of Welsh Bloggers and attend more events.
-Most importantly never forget to take care of no.1

Oh and here are the details to enter Alyssa Nicole's competition;

New Years Eve Outfit 2014

Playsuit- TOPSHOP/ Heels- NEW LOOK/ Necklace- ACCESSORIZE/ Blazer- NEW LOOK

-Hey guys I bought this playsuit full price and now its in the sale isn't that the worst! Its such a beautiful outfit to wear on a winter night out to town. Obviously you want to keep warm but the one problem is that when you are a bit drunk you have to take it all off before you go. I have witnessed a very drunken girl getting naked because of these jumpsuits it was traumatising. That is the downside however I was very warm wearing it and so I decided to wear it out on New Years Eve tonight. The glitter comes off on everything so you'd have to be careful when washing it.

-Today an article was released with South Wales Evening Post, it was a fashion feature/ interview about my blog. It was so surreal having the photos taken and then to appear in the Newspaper a week later, I bought so many copies. It was a proud moment for myself to be proactive and go out there and get what I want instead of waiting for it to come to me, which is what I've done all year. Instead of making friends and family proud now is the time to make yourself proud, I am ready for 2015!

Overview 2014 Pt.2

Hey guys so here is Part 2 of the Overview of 2014 it was a crazy start but then settled down when I approached second year of University. The amount of work was thrown at you quite quickly and I didn't have much time to blog, as well as the nights started getting darker.
 - August was the last month of my Midsummer dream, I tried to fit in all my other pastel/floral clothing I had left during the last warm days. I became heavily inspired by Dolce Gabbana new Sicilian collection for Winter 2015 and started hunting for darker prints for September. I attended my first Lush Blogger Event in Cardiff and met some very lovely #welshbloggers it was such a great day out. I tried to make the most of the countryside before packing to leave for University in September.

-September was my Birthday month yay! I attended London Fashion Week and met up with Paige. We were a bit late trying to figure out how to get to Somerset House, but in the end we managed to get there on time and luckily we bumped into Becca Rose, which was a dream. We chilled out all together and she is such a laugh, wish Arabella had stayed longer though, my fellow lookbooker. We tried to get into the Meadham Kirchhoff show but it was in a much more discreet location now and I think it was for invite only. Although we did see lots of famous faces and Paige got a photo with Susie Bubble

-I also got invited to Flossy Style Shoes Monochrome Event at the Milestone Hotel which was divine. I was so thankful to meet up with Adora and we started chatting and have lots of things in common so that was nice. It was such a beautiful event and I really enjoyed meeting other bloggers such as Georgina

-September was a very busy month I headed to another Event at the Etail PR Gifiting suite where I met Leigh Travers and a few other wonderful bloggers. We talked for ages and it's like I'd known her for ages, she was so lovely. It was a great experience heading to London for lots of events in this month, but also very expensive when you far.

Worked with: Vesper Dresses, AX Paris, OASAP.
- October was spent trying to get stuck into my busy University work schedule. I loved how the leaves were all turning orange and were scattered everywhere thats my favourite part about Autumn. I was also more excited about Halloween and Bonfire night than I was about Christmas to be honest. My style was still inspired by Dolce Gabbana both their new Winter 2015 collection with the Woodland prints and the good old Baroque Gold Embellished dresses.

-November was a quiet month I tried to hit all of my deadlines for Uni, you know that dreaded essay. I was also torn between finding beautiful locations around town and dressing accordingly to the weather forecast. Layers were on top of the list along with knee high boots from Primark. I did get a bit lost with my style as my mind wasn't focussed on my blog so much, sorry about that University was priority.

-December month, it's Christmas, great! haha this month was spent watching the whole box set of The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit and chilling around town, enjoying the festive market. Whilst getting ready to go home and see the family I was torn between leaving my housemates or spending time at home. I am getting to that age now where I want to be able to do my own thing instead of having the pressure to make the family happy, some of you will understand that.

-I redesigned my blog with Pipdig designs which was such a great step for my blogs overall appearance, it feels all professional now. I finally managed to blog about my Chi Chi Dress that I was meant to wear to London Fashion Week but it was way to regal to be walking around London like that.

Overview 2014 Pt.1

Hey guys, I thought I'd do an overview of the outfits and things happened this year. Its been a crazy roller coaster ride with major ups and downs but I'm glad I've kept my feet on the ground and continued to blog as much as I could.

- Lets start with January, I've laid out this post focussing mainly on the outfits themselves, because I believe that is an aspect that fashion bloggers are forgetting. It's not just about your perfect doll face or the quality of your content, if you are passionate and creative with your style that's all what matters.

-Its obvious in January that the Autumn/Winter colour palette is still continuing, this is because here in Wales it was freezing. I wore my tweed blazer a lot and went back to my vintage style with the use of florals and pleated skirts.

-January was such a fab start, whilst attending Miss Guided Press day with Ashleigh in London, it was the first time meeting her and we clicked instantly. I wore the spotty playsuit from Miss Selfridge to the Event, and the high heeled boots was not a good choice, my feet killed walked around London.

-I also worked with Swansea Life Magazine on a street style feature for Jan and it was scary approaching strangers but so much fun putting the article together, its something I wish to continue in 2015.

-February was a quiet month, with the weather still being rubbish and the skies were grey. I was longing for putting on my pastel coloured clothing and start taking more creative photos. So there weren't very many posts for this season, it was quite hectic with going to London Fashion Week for the first time, I completely wore the wrong outfit. Everyone was dressed in Black and I looked like a kawaii doll. But i didn't mind because when we managed to get into the Meadham Kirchhoff show I fitted right in with all the other quirky individuals.

Worked with: Poppy Lux

- March was the beginning of Spring, you could feel it in the air. I bought a new fragrance, Dolce by Dolce Gabbana and it completely set the mood for this seasons fashion style. I started to become inspired by this years Pastel trend and wished I could have bought more pieces like Charlotte Fisher did, her Instagram was heavenly. I was lucky enough to be selected as part of the ASOS Access All team which allows you to stay updated with the latest trends, competitions and blog events. It was still a quiet month as I had a lot of work to do to past first year photography.

Worked with: Joules, Topshop & ASOS

-April was a fantastic month, came back home for Easter holidays and ended up blogging a lot more. I was heavily inspired by Dolce Gabbana SS14 collection, with the beautiful blossom prints and roman coin accessories. Miss Guided sent me a beautiful silk playsuit I had my eyes on at the January Press day, it gorgeous to wear but I still need to style it properly. It was great to come home and see Bert and admire all the trees and flowers all in bloom for Spring.

-May was a difficult month, I experienced my first heartbreak. We separated for about 6 months, it didn't work out living together after only knowing each other for a year or so. But the biggest lesson I have learnt looking back on the situation is that you can't rely on a man or anyone to make you happy, you have to make yourself happy. I know now that to be lonely isn't so bad, to be completely on your own to find out who you are and what hobbies you enjoy. You don't need to go back out and find more guys, it will make the situation way worse, trust me. Read books, go on adventures, love your animals they need you, and just be happy with yourself, then everything else falls into place. It was my biggest mistake to make someone my entire world.

-Its apparent from this all that I lost my confidence and style for a bit and headed down the sports luxe badass monochrome style, which even my Dad said looked awful on me haha.

-June was a fantastic month, full of warm sunny weather and the countryside was flourished with life. Still obsessed with the Dolce Gabbana Sicilian coin trend, white lace dresses and coin printed dresses, I found locations to match the theme of the outfit. People let me into their gardens to take pictures under their blossom trees and in their rose patches, the people around my village are very interested in my fashion blog its really cute.

-I got invited to the Epic Summer party hosted by ASOS and I went alone and luckily met up with Kira. At the time I didn't know anyone there, but got a bit tipsy whoops and embarrassing introduced myself to Carrie, Dunya and a few others. I saw Megan there but I was a bit starstruck seeing her actually there it was like a dream and I was too shy to say Hello, I can get like that sometimes.

Worked with: Chicwish, Fashion Union, OASAP

-July was quite like June but even hotter, I can remember taking these photos and then finding shade pretty soon after as I was feeling dizzy. I got invited to the Paul Mitchell Hair event down in Cardiff Hotel, where I met some lovely Welsh Bloggers. It's funny how we have never known about each other before but there are so many of us, we must be quite shy. It was a brilliant event, and the view from the Hotel over Cardiff bay was a dream. I won a dress in a Love Clothing's twitter competition which was unexpected, the dress print was beautiful. I worked with Flossy shoes which are now my favourite company ever, the shoe actually smelt like strawberries and they are so comfortable to wear.

Christmas Pt.2

Here is the outfit post I have planned for a while, I started sewing the fluff on the dress I bought for Halloween at the beginning of December. I've picked up on the recent trend for all things Fluff, I'm dearly in love with the fluffy boudoir sandals and fluffy trimmed dresses. Hopefully there will be some around in the January Sales to add to my collection. I was going to wear this outfit to a Christmas party before I came back home but it was way to cold, so I went with a sparkly jumpsuit instead. It's inspired by the Mean Girls outfit of course! I love creating little set ups for photos it's something I've missed whilst being in Uni, some of the older readers will understand my passion for location and props.

For Christmas I got lots of small little presents, such as the Rhianna perfume 'Rogue' which has captured my heart. I know it is probably a popular fragrance but nothing else seemed to appeal this season. I also got a lovely 50mm 1.8 lens which is brilliant for close up, give you that nice blurry depth of field. What matters most though is the food, and lots of it. Anyway, whilst Christmas is coming to an end I've learnt vital lesson, try to make the best of a bad situation. 'm hoping to start Vlogging in 2015 after being inspired by so many talented bloggers, I can remember explaining to Amy that my voice is too deep & weird for Vlogging and she said 'have you heard mine?' haha this has kind of encouraged me to try it out. If you have any tips that would help!!

Coming home for Christmas

Hey guys, I'm home for Christmas and I thought I would do part one of a festive blog post. Outfits will be posted tomorrow. Last night was one of the most magical Christmas Eve's I've had for a long time. I spent it with my Brother and Sister- in Law along with my four year old niece. It's such a special age to enjoy the magical spirit and the excitement on her face is worth more any presents can give. We watched Santa's Sleigh fly west over the house, it was a clear night and it was visible to see. It was actually the space station orbiting the earth at a coincidental time to Christmas Eve or something but it was a good idea for Kids. It's worth coming home just to get cuddles from Bert and take them for long country walks something you can't do in the City so easily. I spent Christmas by myself which I quite enjoyed to be honest, I cooked my own dinner and relaxed watching Toy Story 3. The photos above are from my Instagram if you want to keep updated that way, but the internet is hopeless in the Countryside so bare with me. Hope your all having a lovely Christmas, whether your with a big family or by yourself, there are no rules for a perfect Christmas, just relax and enjoy yourself.

Lots of love,

Frances Dress- CHICHI CLOTHING / Black Peep Toe Heel- NEW LOOK / Headband- DIY / Earrings- KRISTIN PERRY ACCESSORIES

Hey guys this post is long over due, I received this beautiful Frances dress from Chi Chi Clothing back in September especially for London Fashion Week. However, when I tried it on it felt too poofy to wear on the train and to walk around London in, so I decided to go with the Chi Chi Renesmee Dress instead that I got back in 2013. Today I ventured out into the rain and took some outfits photos in my nearest park. I wanted them to be quite mystical looking with the use of smoke pellets but they kept blowing our because of the rain and my camera was getting soaked, not a good idea. I quickly headed over to this wonderful door I noticed, the architecture was very regal looking. Some lady from up shouted loudly 'What she taking photos of?' it's quite funny really how suspicious people get of a person with a camera, as if its a weapon or something. With the way I'm dressed as well people are always confused, hopefully fashion bloggers will become more well known amongst the public and in 2015 it won't be so weird to take photos. I mean even when I take a 'selfie' in public ( hate that word) people always comment in a humorous manner as if making oneself the subject of a photo is comical? so I can never really relax and pout really... haha. Anyway, the beautiful pearl & diamond earrings are from Kristin Perry an American accessory store, I also received these a while back. They are so beautiful I needed to make sure I had a perfect outfit to match them with. Follow Kristin Perry on Instagram, Twitter & Facebook. The headband I DIY'ed myself back in the Summer time, inspired by Dolce & Gabbana's Baroque collection. I hope the rain will hold off for a while I have lots of outfit posts lined up.

Lots of love,
