001. Hey guys sorry this is such a long over due blog post mainly because it took me for ever to choose the best photos and to carefully edit them all. I was inspired by the fairytale story of Thumbelina, ever since I watched a documentary on TV about a girl called Amelie who was like the real thing. I also empathised with her, I know I am not that short but throughout my school years I have always been the smallest. I thought I would blog about my size and start to embrace it instead of view it as a negative thing. People always say the best things come in small packages and whilst being short you view the world differently. Everything is so much larger than you but then you are closer to the grass and nature and are able to sneak through forests and peak down rabbit holes.
002. I felt inspired to really create some magical photos that try to capture the concept of always appreciate the littlest things in life whether they are small people, animals or belongings. Don't forget to take your time to look way up high above the tree tops and study the butterflies and birds gliding through the air. I always lack confidence around people and forever feeling shy and nervous, but the other day I felt I was almost as high as a kite when I visited my University town. It was a new place and for a day I walked around by myself with my head held high noticing peoples faces and sign posts and even the tiny rain drops falling from the sky. Try it sometime its amazing how great it can make you feel!
003. I have also received my prize from Chictopia's Competition for the Magic Mirror Contest in which I came second. You can see the blog post here. I received a Rare Benefit Beauty Kit, that I can safely say is the best prize I've ever received, seriously. I love the rose lip stain that I can wear on days when I'm not wearing Red Lipstick, the high beam really enhances my cheekbones and brightens my eyes up, the mascara is the best I've ever tried, and lastly the Pore-fessional Pro Balm hides black heads and pores and makes your skin look so clear and perfect, I can't believe how much I've been using these products recently they are a dream, I can't thank Chictopia enough for allowing me to express my creativity.

What impresses me is the amount of effort you go to to set up your surroundings. This set must've taken so long to put together! Worth it though, these photos are amazing!! xx
ReplyDeleteI love this! The hanging dresses reminds me of Tim Walker's photography

THANK YOU!<3
Beautiful set up, it must have taken forever! You look so beautiful, like a dainty little fairy, and I love what you've said about being short, I'm quite short too at 5'2. And I agree with Carina, this reminds me of Tim Walkers work, especially the dresses hanging from the tress. Also, the way you've edited the photos make them look so magical and fairytale-like.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on coming second, benefit makeup really does the trick :)

Oh wow, I love the way you have styled this shoot and outfit! You look adorable. And I totally get what you mean about noticing little things, I always look up when I'm in Leeds as the architecture is just so beautiful and often gets hidden by shiny new shop signs and what not. Also, I'm only 5ft 2 so I think short people are awesome!
